Error Codes & Recovery Guide

Every error returned by Avatarity Studio or the Gateway API includes a machine-readable code and a plain message. A render that fails or is cancelled is never counted against your plan.

UNAUTHENTICATED

HTTP 401

The Studio session or API key is missing, invalid or expired.

What to do: Sign in again at /login, or send your key as Authorization: Bearer av_live_...

TOKEN_REVOKED

HTTP 401

The API key was revoked or rotated.

What to do: Create a new key in the Studio under Settings and update your integration.

INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE

HTTP 403

The API key is not allowed to call this endpoint.

What to do: Use a key created in the Studio; it covers video and image generation.

IP_NOT_PERMITTED

HTTP 403

The request came from an address outside the key’s IP allowlist.

What to do: Call from an allowed address, or change the allowlist in Settings.

SUBSCRIPTION_REQUIRED

HTTP 402

There is no active plan on this account.

What to do: Choose a plan at /pricing or in the Studio under Plan & billing.

ALLOWANCE_NOT_ACTIVE

HTTP 402

The plan exists but this month’s allowance is not active yet.

What to do: It appears as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute.

ALLOWANCE_EXHAUSTED

HTTP 402

This month’s videos or images are used up.

What to do: Upgrade the plan in Plan & billing, or wait for the next paid month.

PAYMENT_OVERDUE

HTTP 402

The last payment failed more than 72 hours ago, so new renders are paused.

What to do: Update your card under Plan & billing (Manage billing). Renders resume once paid.

PAYMENT_DISPUTED

HTTP 402

The payment for this period is disputed, so the allowance is on hold.

What to do: Contact support at /support to resolve the dispute.

OMNI_NOT_ENABLED

HTTP 402

Omni 1.1 Flash is a paid add-on and it is off.

What to do: Turn it on in Plan & billing ($0.15 per successful generation).

OMNI_SPEND_CAP_REACHED

HTTP 402

Your monthly Omni spending cap is reached.

What to do: Raise the cap in Plan & billing, or wait for the next month.

CONCURRENCY_LIMIT

HTTP 429

The API already runs as many renders as your plan allows at once.

What to do: Wait for one to finish (poll GET /v1/tasks/{id}) and retry.

QUEUE_FULL

HTTP 429

Studio only: too many renders are running or waiting.

What to do: Start more when some have finished.

RATE_LIMITED

HTTP 429

Too many requests in a short time.

What to do: Wait and retry; the Retry-After header says how long.

MODEL_NOT_AVAILABLE

HTTP 400

The model is not sold. Video: veo-3.1-lite, omni-1.1-flash. Images: nano-banana-2, nano-banana-2.1, nano-banana-pro.

What to do: Use one of the listed models (GET /v1/models).

VALIDATION_FAILED

HTTP 400

A field is missing or has an invalid value, for example a video aspect ratio other than 16:9 or 9:16, or an image URL that is not public HTTPS.

What to do: Fix the field named in the message and retry.

MODERATION_HELD

HTTP 202

The prompt was flagged by an automatic check and waits for a short review.

What to do: Nothing is counted while it waits. You are notified of the outcome.

NOT_FOUND

HTTP 404

The task, render or resource does not exist on this account.

What to do: Check the id. Tasks are visible only to the account that created them.

BILLING_UNAVAILABLE

HTTP 503

Usage accounting is briefly unavailable.

What to do: Retry in a moment. Nothing was started or counted.
